How do I install this thing?

Your new Chinchilla wheel is easy to install to most Chinchilla homes with wire-mesh type sides.  Simply remove the wing nuts & washers.   Attach to a suitable location inside the cage, then reinstall the washers & wing nuts.  Be sure that the edges of the wheel are not contacting the floor or cage sides.

Can you ship internationally?
Sometimes. It depends on the destination. There is generally added shipping charges for international shipments, and some delay due to customs. Some nations, such as the U.K., have problems with imports and so I do not deal with them.

The wheel is very noisy. Help!!!

This is NOT a silent wheel, and was never advertised as such.  It is meant to be as safe, durable & economical as possible.  To keep the price low, some design compromises had to be made & the noise level was one of them.  There are quieter, safe wheels out there.  However the price is usually more than double what this one sells for.  I feel this wheel is the best you can purchase in it's price range.

Just how noisy is the wheel?

This Chinchilla wheel uses a heavy-duty spinning mechanism which contains ball-bearings.  This is what causes the noise.  For new customers wondering about the level of noise, imagine a box fan running at the medium setting.  There is no annoying squeaking, just a steady rushing sound.  The sound level corresponds to the speed of the wheel.  The faster it spins, the louder it would be.  I do not recommend this wheel for pets kept in bedrooms.  Myself, I can watch television or sleep while the spinning is occurring.  It does not bother me.   It is simply a matter of personal preference as to whether it will bother you.

Does the wheel need oiled? Can I quiet the wheel any?
The wheel needs no added lubrication.  I have started to recommend not adding any type of oil, because the oil could collect the fine particles from your Chinchillas dust bath (You are bathing him, aren't you?)   Adding oil doesn't seem to quiet the wheel much, nor does it make it spin any faster.

The wheel has too much resistance for my pet.
This wheel works best for adult Chinchillas.  Adults should be close to a foot long.  My Chinchilla is full grown and is about 11 inches long (not including the tail). He has no problem spinning the wheel.

Due to the weight of the drum & the type of spinner mechanism used, the drum will not spin much on its own.  This is normal & does not indicate a problem with the wheel.   The resistance provides a good workout for the chin, and also prevents the chinchilla from spinning upside down or falling out when stopping.

My pet will not use the wheel & I want my money back.
Sometimes, your pet chinchilla may not adapt to the wheel right away.  Don’t fret–sometimes it may take them a while to get acclimated, especially since it’s new to them.  Older chinchillas don’t adapt to change very well and it may take them longer to get used to it.  It may take them weeks, or even months to get acclimated to the device.  When they do, they usually like it and take to the wheel well, especially when they realize that it’s benefiting them.  Anything that benefits them is good, and they try to keep a positive demeanor.  Unfortunately, I cannot offer a refund when a Chinchilla is not interested in using the wheel.

The wheel is too big for my pet.
I have to stress that this wheel is LARGE.  It is not appropriate for mice, hamsters, gerbils.  They are too small to operate it.  It is intended for and has been successfully tested with adult Chinchillas (mine!).  LARGE Rats (10-12 inch not including tail),  LARGE Hedgehogs & Prairie Dogs `MIGHT` be able to use it, however I cannot guarantee that they can.   Please consider carefully before ordering.
